Visiting with the grandparents

Today my mom and I went to visit my sister in Hoover. We picked her up and then went to visit with my Papa Roach and Grandmother. I miss them very much and it's always good to see them. We also played with their sweet dogs for a while. Grandmother went out to lunch with us at The California Pizza Kitchen by The Galleria. I wish I had money to go shop. I had never been before and it was pretty good. After lunch we took Heather home and mom and I headed back to Opelika. It poured almost the whole way home and I saw so much lightning. Thankfully I'm back home now safe in my little house. Lee told me our power went out for a few minutes and the internet went down. The Wileys are about to arrive and we are going to watch He's Just Not That Into You. I've heard it was pretty cute. On another note it's back to work tomorrow after a week. Boo! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Back from the beach

Lee and I got back from the beach this afternoon. We had such a relaxing time with his parents. We had great food and perfect weather. Most of my days were spent by the pool. I could spend all day in the pool. I finished my book and got a great tan. We had really good food at AJs and Gilligans. We played a round of miniature golf and bought a key lime pie at the Donut Hole. I hated leaving. We had a really great time.

Netflix

Lee and I are really liking Netflix right now. We have a free trial for a month and so far we have watched 3 movies with 1 on the way and 1 just arriving this week. It doesn't take long at all for the movies to be delivered in the mail, and there are so many movies/tv shows you can choose from. So far we have watched Seven Pounds, Taken, and My Best Friends Girl (I didn't watch that one; that was Lee's idea). Benjamin Button just came in this week and after Lee found out how long it was it he has already lost interest. He's Just Not That Into You is on "backorder" right now. I guess that's a pretty popular one. We might just order a season of Friends next. I love that show. We already own several of the seasons. Our free trial should be ending any time now and I wouldn't mind paying $10/month to watch movies, especially on rainy days like this.

A day at the Aquarium and cheesecake

This weekend, Lee and I decided we needed to "get away" after a long week. We just wanted to go somewhere for the day so we decided on the Georgia aquarium. We had been before but wanted to go back. I could just sit and watch the fish swim all day. Saturday morning we headed to Atlanta and got to the aquarium around 11:30. We walked through the exhibits and awed at all the different sea life: beluga whales, sting rays, hammerheads, whale sharks, sea otters. The sea otters were so cute. They were asleep for a while but finally woke up and swam with their toys. What an exciting life...sleep and swimming. We ate lunch and Lee realized that he left his debit card at the ATM when we got money out for parking. But luckily there were no suspicious charges on our account and we canceled his card. Anyway...our tickets also included a Titanic exhibit so after lunch we headed to that. The exhibit showed all the facts about the aquarium and different things that they collected from the ship. It was really neat. There was a "Survived and Lost" board. We had boarding passes that they gave us before entering so it let you know if you lived or died. Both Lee and I survived. I was a 24-year-old Italian woman who lived but her husband was lost. Lee was a 40 something year old perfume salesman who lived. They recovered the actual perfume sample bottles on the ship. After a fun day at the aquarium, we knew no day in Atlanta would be complete without The Cheesecake Factory. We knew if we each got a meal then we would be too full to eat cheesecake. Instead we split the fried macaroni and cheese balls and a slice of the 30th anniversary chocolate cheesecake. It was sooooo yummy! After that we headed home and just relaxed. It was a fun weekend and I'm glad we did it. On another note, Friday we went with the Wiley's to see Up!. It was such a cute movie, and after seeing it I wonder what Mason would say if he had a "talking" collar. You'll just have to see it to know what I'm talking about.
