Productive Day

So far I've had a somewhat productive day. It is just 1:30 and already I have washed clothes, washed dishes, dusted, vacuumed, and met Amy for lunch. I am trying to decide what I will do the rest of the day. It is such a pretty day outside. Maybe I will walk Mason. Whatever it is, it is Saturday and that means I'm not at work:)

Lucy

So today one of our surgeons was giving out names to everyone. Names that would be ours if we didn't already have our given names. One of our many important topics at work. Make sense? Anyway, today he told me that I was a "Lucy". When I heard that name I thought of our friends' boxer named Lucy and Lucy Camden from 7th heaven. And of course there's Lucille Ball and everyone loves Lucy right? (Just a random thought as I take a break from an online test)

Reading Rainbow

So I decided that I was going to try and read more this year. I have always loved reading but I haven't done a lot of it until lately. For Christmas I got several books to keep me busy. I usually am a slow reader but if the books are really good I can finish them in a couple of weeks. That's good for me, but I do know several people who can read a book in one day. I just finished Nicholas Sparks's "Bend in the Road". It was really good and was the first book I had read by him. I just started "Good Grief" by Lolly Winston. So far very good. I also got the new Jodi Piccoult book for Christmas. I love her books. I will read that one but I wanted to try and read the other books I got before reading hers. Oh and the title of this post was the first thing that popped in my head when I finished this post. I usually don't think of a title until the end of the blog. "Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high. Take a look it's in a book...Reading Rainbow." Ok I'll stop now:)

The day after Saturday

So today was just about the same as yesterday. Not much happening. I did a little more school work and then went to the movies and stuffed my face with popcorn. It was the first thing I had to eat today and with a little help from two other girls we just about finished the large. Lee is watching Flight of the Concords and I am just playing on the computer. Tomorrow is Monday and the weekend once again flew by. But next weekend is Superbowl Sunday which is an excuse to eat tons of food. And Lee is excited because the Office will be on after that.

Lazy Day

So far I've had a lazy weekend. But sometimes those are the best kind. Last night we went to Johnny Bruscos. They have very good pizza and it is cheap at the same time. Two things I like: pizza and cheap restaurants. Today I slept a little late (well put it this way...i woke up to the sound of Lee's alarm clock on his cell phone that he sets for work everyday. He had forgotten to turn it off.) I did do a little bit of housework but nothing too strenuous. I did a little bit of school work and Lee went out and got us Chick Fil-A, another one of my favorite things to eat. We also got one of their milkshakes...yummy. I got the Cookies n Cream while Lee got Strawberry. I finally left the house earlier tonight and we poked around Target. Miss America was on and I had recorded it so I watched that after we got home. Tomorrow I am going to a movie and not sure what else the day will hold. Probably won't compare to the already exciting weekend that I've had :)

Biloxi and Frank Caliendo

This weekend, Lee and I along with my parents went to Biloxi. My parents are frequent visitors so Lee and I got to stay and eat for free. The only thing we had to pay for was our gambling. Friday night, my parents got us tickets to see Frank Caliendo. If you have not seen his show or his act you must watch it. He is hilarious. He does impressions of George Bush, John Madden, Bill Clinton, Al Pacino, etc. I laughed the whole time. We waited in line and bought some of his Cds and a DVD. He autographed our ticket stubs and posed for a photo with Lee and I. He even called a 16 year-old boy (who couldn't come because he wasn't 21) and did his John Madden impression. It was very nice of him. Saturday, we gambled a little and then ventured over to the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino and walked around. We even had Ben and Jerrys even though it was cold. I could eat icecream in any weather. Saturday night we had dinner at the Sports Grill which had a flat screen at our table. We gambled a little more that night and lost it all. ($20) We are not high rollers. This morning we headed back home and picked up our little monster (Mason) from the vet. He was happy to be home to run around his yard. All in all it was a great weekend and I hope to go back soon!

Baby It's Cold Outside

It is freezing outside. I am trying to get Mason inside and every time I open the back door he takes off with his stuffed monkey and races around the yard. I think this cold weather makes him crazy. I'm sure if it gets too cold for him he will start whining.

UPDATE:
Apparently his dad got him in before I finished this blog. This is what I found when I came out of the laundry room.

Weekend Trip

So...I didn't get a role in Steel Magnolias. I am kind of relieved though. Memorizing so many lines would be a difficult challenge for me right now. I am still going to be involved with the play though. Me and Ash are going to work backstage. I am excited about that. This weekend we are going to Biloxi. Frank Caliendo will be there on Friday, which is pretty much the main reason we are going. We are going to bring a little bit of money to gamble with and when that is gone we will quit. Who knows? Maybe we will win big! I am so excited that American Idol has started back. I looooove that show. The auditions are so much fun to watch. I get a good laugh out of some of the contestants that should not be auditioning.

Starting My Own Business

Okay so I think I am starting by own business! Photographic Memory Makers. I am taking pictures and putting them to a slideshow on DVD for weddings, anniversaries, etc. I am excited. I even have some business cards that I am going to print up that Lee brought home from work. Let me know if you are interested in anything. I have a website that is in the works right now so it's not finalized but take a look!

"My Cullas are Blush and Bashful Mama"

Tonight I did something that I have never done...auditioned for a role in Steel Magnolias. I was a little nervous but so glad that I did it. Apparently we have a community theatre which I didn't know about. My friend Ashley saw an article about it in the newspaper. She told me about it and since we both looove the movie we thought why not. There was a pretty good turnout. There was one scene and everyone got to read at least twice. I read the role of Shelby (which I didn't choose but didn't mind doing of course) and Annelle. Ashley got to read the same roles as well. It was so much fun. Once I got up to read, I felt my southern draw just come out. I sounded like I was from Louisiana. We are going again tomorrow night for the 2nd auditions, which isn't mandatory but we were told it would be a good idea. I am excited about this possible experience. I was in a play once though....in 6th grade. Does that count? Wish me luck.

No more Food or Late Night TV before Bed

Last night, Lee and I had a late dinner. It was very good (Talapia, greenbeans, corn) but I think it contributed to my nightmare last night; along with falling asleep watching Dateline (the BTK killer was profiled). The dream seemed to last soooo long which I'm sure only lasted 15-20 minutes. The dream: Me, my mom, my sister, and Mason decided to go for a drive out in the country. When we got there, I let Mason out for a walk. We came upon this big white house and out comes Dennis , who chases me until he runs out of breath (he was quite obese). I run all the way to this church and call the police. Connie (who was a victim of the BTK killer), the sherrif drove out to where I was and got my info. She said he does that a lot. A couple of weeks later, I was with my dad who drives into the driveway at the white house after telling him not to and the guy comes out of the house again and chases us. Luckilly we were in a truck this time and so we got away. After making my dad take me home, my mom tells me that she thinks she knows why this man is after me. Apparently, I purchased Auburn football tickets from this man years ago and he is trying to kill everyone that had done that; along with wipe out their bank accounts.....I finally woke up and took a deep breath knowing that I was ok and Dennis couldn't chase me anymore (I hate being chased in a dream!) So no more food or late night TV (especially about a serial killer) before bed!

Happy New Year

I hope everyone has had a great New Year so far. Last night we went to dinner with some friends. We arrived at Olive Garden to find out that it was a 2 hour wait. So then we decided to go to Logan's. It was really good. I am eating my left overs right now as I type this post. After dinner we headed over to Amy and Phillip's for a game of Wii. It was so much fun. We played this game called Boom Blocks where you had to throw a baseball or bowling ball and knock blocks off to get points. Team Busby started off in the lead but fell to 3rd place in the end. (There were 4 couples) It was fun though and we rang in the new year with a glass of wine. When 1 o'clock came and our game was finished, we went home and went to bed. I slept late today. I told myself I was going to be lazy today. Lee is watching football. We might head over to Tiger Town today as we each got a couple of giftcards for Christmas and maybe we will go to dinner tonight. I hope everyone's New Year continues to be great.
