Vacationing

This has been such a fun vacation. The guys are about to grill dinner and of course watch the World Series. The guys went fishing earlier but didn't bring back any fish. I guess it's a good thing we went to the market and bought steaks and chicken or we would be out of luck. So I'll back up a few days and post what's been going on the last couple of days: Sunday we left Opelika and drove to Kiawah Island ( where we are staying: Dallas's parents have a house here and were so nice to let us stay here free of charge). We didn't get here until late so we stopped at a Fizoli's and had dinner. If you've never been to a Fizoli's it is basically fast food Italian. My spaghetti and breadsticks with a drink was $5.00. We definitely need one in Opelika. Monday we went to the Ocean Course to eat lunch. Just to eat and not play golf of course. A game cost approximately $200! We walked on the beach that afternoon. Monday night we grilled sword fish, corn, hush puppies, fries, rolls, and crab. It was a very good meal. The girls were only responsible for the hush puppies, fries, and rolls. We played a fun game of Trivial pursuit but the guys won. We came in a close 2nd though. Tuesday we spent the day in Charleston. We ate lunch at the Charleston Crab House and had the award winning She Crab soup. So yummy! We went and window shopped after that. We decided to go on a horse and carriage tour of the city and with our luck.....it started pouring during the tour. Oh well we had fun and learned a lot about the city. Today we had to go back into Charleston and get cupcakes at Cupkae. I had the red velvet cupcake. Delicious! I am sad to leave tomorrow:( I'll post pics later.

I'm still alive

Yes I'm still here! Football season is in full swing and each weekend we've either had company or have been out of town. This past weekend I was freeeezing at the game. We really didn't get a break from hot to cold weather. It was the 3rd weekend in October and I had to pull out my scarf and gloves. And the poor tigers couldn't pull out a win. Oh well I guess it was time for Kentucky to win since I heard they hadn't since the 1960s.
This coming Sunday we are leaving for Charleston. I am so excited. It's time for a much needed vacation. We are staying on Kiawah Island with our friends Dallas and K. Dallas's parents own a house on the island and have graciously offered their house for free!
I hope the tigers can pull out a win against the other tigers. We will be at the 2nd annual Wileyween trying to pull them through.

Big girl

Bella is getting to be sooo big! She is 16 weeks and weighed 27 lbs at the vet today. She is sooo sweet and sits on command now. She is learning a lot from her big brother Mason. We leave her outside everyday now and I think Mason loves it. She definitely keeps him company and he loves having a play mate.

The big 2-9

So tonight at 10:15 I will officially turn 29. It really doesn't feel any different than 28. I had a great day complete with icecream cake and red velvet cake with the family, and dinner at Logans with friends. I'm sure everyone had a great time throwing peanuts at me. I found a few in my purse as I was leaving. I got a giftcard to Hobby Lobby, a few Old Navy tops, money, and the next three Harry Potter books. I have been neglecting The Chamber of Secrets due to the play I was in, but it is over and I am ready to dive back in to reading. I had an awesome birthday and now the countdown is on to the big 3-0!

My 15 minutes of fame

So it's finally over. What you ask...The scene I did with the community theatre-Five Girls Wearing the Same Dress by Alan Ball. (only it was just 3 girls wearing the same dress) It was a lot of fun. Each scene was about 15 minutes long. This was my first time on stage and I was a little nervous but as soon as I walked on stage (crazy bridesmaid hat and all) the nerves subsided. Tonight at Jan Dempsey there were eight scenes by different American playwrights. We were the 7th one...since there were a few adult themes in the play. After ours we were able to breath so we could watch the last one. All in all we remembered our lines and remembered to "break for laughs". I haven't decided if I will be auditioning for The Miracle Worker yet. I have until Monday to decide. But until then it will be my birthday this weekend so I have that to think about and look forward to.

Friends Forever

Today Mason's bed arrived from Solutions.com. It is a cot that he can get on without having to lay on the concrete or the ground all day. I thinks he likes it....and so does Bella. She wants to do whatever he does. Tonight they have been playing tug of war with Red (Mason's pet monkey). They are getting along so well and I'm glad that Mason has someone to play with and keep him young.

Happy Early Birthday To Me!

I still have a few weeks before my birthday but I got a great early birthday present this morning. We had been looking at a car at the Nissan dealership that I liked and today we traded in my trusty Honda Civic for a white Nissan Altima. It is an '06and really spacy and comfy with leather seats. Apparently they are pretty popular b/c we saw 6 in our neighborhood on the way home. Lee said this will cover my birthday, Christmas, and anniversary...possibly even my next birthday! So I am taking a break right now from ebaying. We have been ebaying this afternoon and so far we have posted 21 items. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of this! But that's okay. It's worth it:)

Good morning

I have never been a morning person. In other words, I enjoy my sleep. But since Bella came into our home that hasn't happened. Usually around 6ish she starts yelping to go outside. The first morning we had her it was rough. But that has changed. I actually like getting up early now. I don't have to rush to get ready for work and can just relax. Once she goes outside she and Mason play for a good while and then I bring her back in and go to work. She usually doesn't mind this and is pretty worn out after playing. I can catch a few episodes of The Golden Girls which is always good. All in all we are adjusting pretty well and I think Mason is getting used to the idea that she is staying.

Sibling Rivalry

Mason and Bella remind me of me and my sister when we were younger. For example, Mason has several toys outside. He only really plays with one toy now ( a Mr. Potato head from a Mcdonalds HappyMeal). The other day I took Bella outside to play with Mason and she headed straight for Red the Monkey. He started getting jealous and went and started playing with his toy. He thought well even if I don't want it you can't have it because it's MINE! He has become better though. He is such a good boy to let her drink from his water bowl and he even let her play with his rope toy this morning. I hope they get even better and become the best of friends!

Meet Bella

Meet Bella. She is the newest addition to the Busby household. We adopted her from the vet school and she is just the cutest thing...with razor sharp teeth. We brought her home yesterday and she was pretty shy at first. She slept in my lap on the way home. We took her in PetCo and bought her a toy and ran into Target to get her food. She had a few accidents when we got home. I'm trying to teach her that outside is the place to potty and I have been praising her when she does this outside. She doesn't seem to know what the puppy pad is yet. This makes me think back to Mason's puppy days. Any advice on potty training? We introduced her to her big brother yesterday afternoon...both on leashes of course. Mason did pretty well. A lot of sniffing went on. We limited their time and I made sure to spend a lot of time praising Mason and giving him treats. I don't want him to feel left out. Overall she did pretty good on her first night. She slept through the night....and she loves socks, especially when they are on your feet. We got her a rope toy to hopefully fulfill this chewing urge. I think she is a keeper. Any other advice on the best way to train a puppy would be appreciated. Here are a few pics of the sweet girl....

The Wonderful World of Harry Potter

So last week I was introduced to the wonderful world of Harry Potter. I started watching the first movie last week and went to see the 6th movie last night. I didn't know what I had been missing. Amy turns 30 tomorrow and she wanted me to have watched all the movies by her birthday. Well I have fullfilled her wish. She told me in the past that I would love the movies but I just never watched them. I didn't know what all the craze had been for the last years....but now I know. I have decided to read all of the books now and then rewatch the movies when I know a lot more of what's going on. Amy has been a big help in Harry Potter knowledge and details. So happy birthday Amy (even though it is tomorrow.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th! Saturday morning we got up early and headed to Pratville. Lee's parents best friends daughter lives there and her daughter turned 10 yesterday. They made all this great food complete with a red velvet cream cheese birthday cake. So yummy! After that we went to Tallasse to Aunt Donna's where we swam, played horshoes (i'm horrible...but it was my first time. The first time I threw it straight up in the air), and ate yet another delicious meal. At 9:00 we all headed to watch the fireworks that someone puts on themselves at their house. It was so pretty! We didn't stay for the whole thing thought. At 10:30 Lee and I were about to fall asleep, so we headed home and slept late this morning. I hope everyone had a great 4th too!

One year anniversary

Wow it has been exactly one year since my first blog post! Tomorrow is my last day of work for the week. Yeah for long weekends. We are going to several cookouts for the 4th. And both of them happen to have swimming pools. Good fun and good weather equals great weekend!

Visiting with the grandparents

Today my mom and I went to visit my sister in Hoover. We picked her up and then went to visit with my Papa Roach and Grandmother. I miss them very much and it's always good to see them. We also played with their sweet dogs for a while. Grandmother went out to lunch with us at The California Pizza Kitchen by The Galleria. I wish I had money to go shop. I had never been before and it was pretty good. After lunch we took Heather home and mom and I headed back to Opelika. It poured almost the whole way home and I saw so much lightning. Thankfully I'm back home now safe in my little house. Lee told me our power went out for a few minutes and the internet went down. The Wileys are about to arrive and we are going to watch He's Just Not That Into You. I've heard it was pretty cute. On another note it's back to work tomorrow after a week. Boo! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Back from the beach

Lee and I got back from the beach this afternoon. We had such a relaxing time with his parents. We had great food and perfect weather. Most of my days were spent by the pool. I could spend all day in the pool. I finished my book and got a great tan. We had really good food at AJs and Gilligans. We played a round of miniature golf and bought a key lime pie at the Donut Hole. I hated leaving. We had a really great time.

Netflix

Lee and I are really liking Netflix right now. We have a free trial for a month and so far we have watched 3 movies with 1 on the way and 1 just arriving this week. It doesn't take long at all for the movies to be delivered in the mail, and there are so many movies/tv shows you can choose from. So far we have watched Seven Pounds, Taken, and My Best Friends Girl (I didn't watch that one; that was Lee's idea). Benjamin Button just came in this week and after Lee found out how long it was it he has already lost interest. He's Just Not That Into You is on "backorder" right now. I guess that's a pretty popular one. We might just order a season of Friends next. I love that show. We already own several of the seasons. Our free trial should be ending any time now and I wouldn't mind paying $10/month to watch movies, especially on rainy days like this.

A day at the Aquarium and cheesecake

This weekend, Lee and I decided we needed to "get away" after a long week. We just wanted to go somewhere for the day so we decided on the Georgia aquarium. We had been before but wanted to go back. I could just sit and watch the fish swim all day. Saturday morning we headed to Atlanta and got to the aquarium around 11:30. We walked through the exhibits and awed at all the different sea life: beluga whales, sting rays, hammerheads, whale sharks, sea otters. The sea otters were so cute. They were asleep for a while but finally woke up and swam with their toys. What an exciting life...sleep and swimming. We ate lunch and Lee realized that he left his debit card at the ATM when we got money out for parking. But luckily there were no suspicious charges on our account and we canceled his card. Anyway...our tickets also included a Titanic exhibit so after lunch we headed to that. The exhibit showed all the facts about the aquarium and different things that they collected from the ship. It was really neat. There was a "Survived and Lost" board. We had boarding passes that they gave us before entering so it let you know if you lived or died. Both Lee and I survived. I was a 24-year-old Italian woman who lived but her husband was lost. Lee was a 40 something year old perfume salesman who lived. They recovered the actual perfume sample bottles on the ship. After a fun day at the aquarium, we knew no day in Atlanta would be complete without The Cheesecake Factory. We knew if we each got a meal then we would be too full to eat cheesecake. Instead we split the fried macaroni and cheese balls and a slice of the 30th anniversary chocolate cheesecake. It was sooooo yummy! After that we headed home and just relaxed. It was a fun weekend and I'm glad we did it. On another note, Friday we went with the Wiley's to see Up!. It was such a cute movie, and after seeing it I wonder what Mason would say if he had a "talking" collar. You'll just have to see it to know what I'm talking about.

Beach and Baseball

I am back from the beach. While I had a great time it is good to be back. The sun takes a lot out of you. We had great weather and great food. The doctors are so nice to pay for everything. It's so nice to be able to look at a menu and order something and not have to look at the price. Friday I went out on a kayak into the ocean. It was a lot of fun even though I was thrown into the air several times after going over the choppy waves. Saturday I mostly laid out by the pool since the back of my legs were burned. I guess I missed the sunscreen there. Oh well...I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep. Last night Lee and I went to see the Mets and Braves play in Atlanta. Lee's mom had free tickets and it even had a $10 credit for food on both tickets! The Mets won. Lee is a huge Mets fan and it's not often that the Mets beat the Braves in Atlanta.

Beach Bound

So tomorrow my office is heading to the beach. We work 1/2 day and then we are going to Destin. I can not wait. I love the beach. I'm almost finished packing and I bought a couple of cute outfits for the occasion. I laid out a little bit last weekend so I would have some sun and not get totally burned. I have to use the SPF 70 on my face in order for it not to burn. Once I got so sunburned, my eyes were swollen and it looked like Lee had beaten me. So I can't forget the sunscreen. I am looking forward to good food and good weather. The doctors pay for our trip so we get to stay in this awesome condo and all of our dinners are paid for!! I hope we have good weather but if not it's better to be at the beach with the rain than at work.

Simple Pleasures

Tonight Lee and I went to Johnny Bruscos Pizza. We each got a slice of pizza and garlic bread. We usually don't get dessert with dinner but tonight we did. It was soooo good. We got the cinnamon knots which is basically baked knots of pizza dough covered with cinnamon. We couldn't finish them all so I brought the rest home. One of life's simple pleasures.

A-day weekend

This weekend was such a busy weekend. Our friends (all guys) from Nashville came to stay the weekend for A-day. Friday night I had dinner with Amy at Outback and had the oh so yummy cheesefries. I played chauffeur and drove the guys around. I got to drive a Hummer so that was a fun experience. Saturday morning the guys went to A-day while me and my mom went to see a movie. That night I played chauffeur again. Sunday after lunch and saying good bye to the guys I went shopping and bought a couple swimsuits and clothes for the beach next week. My office is going to Destin and I am so ready to go. I need some sun on this pale skin. Last night we went to dinner and then bowling with The Wileys and The Hares. It was a lot of fun even though I am horrible at bowling. It was a very exhausting weekend and today at work was just as tiring. There were several people out today. Anyway I still had a great weekend...but I have nothing planned for this weekend and I am so thankful.

Running, Dinner, and A-Day

This afternoon I went to the track by our house and jogged. I haven't done it in a while and my legs are pretty sore right now. Now that we have nice weather I have no excuse. It is pretty relaxing to go walking; it gives me time to think. That and my morning showers. When I got home I started dinner and I scarfed it down. I think all that running built up an appetite. Anyway I am about to finish cleaning the house. We are having company this weekend for the A-day came. Four guys will be coming to our house to stay for the weekend. I will be doing other things so I won't go crazy.

Happy Easter!

Today was a very productive day. We went to church this morning and afterwards went to a cookout at Lee's boss's house. My mom and Lee's mom had to work this weekend so we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs instead of the traditional Easter lunch. After that we headed to Home Depot and I bought some flowers to plant. I'm not much of a gardener so I hope they don't die on me. We'll see. On the way home we decided to pull into Sonic and get a slushy. If we were six minutes earlier we would have gotten 1/2 off. Oh well. The watermelon slushy gave us both brain freezes. I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

Easter weekend

These are the kind of Saturdays I love...with nothing planned. This is the first Saturday in a while that I got to do whatever I wanted with nothing on the agenda. I slept a little late, did some housework, did some homework, and went to the movies. I just started a new book by Jodi Piccoult. I definitely see some Cadbury eggs in my future. The Easter bunny aka The Busbys sent us an Easter package filled with candy. I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

After the final curtain

Not much has happened this week. And that is certainly fine with me. I've finally gotten a chance to relax since the show. Coming home after work instead of at 9:30 is definitely a plus. My hubby is so sweet. After the final show on Sunday I came home to a present and a card. He bought me the Steel Magnolias DVD and a card that said he was proud of me for sticking with it and reaching my goal. I told him he didn't have to come to the show but he knew I worked hard and wanted to be there. I am definitely blessed to have him as my husband. Alright...enough of the sappiness. I am letting my hummus chil in the fridge. I'm not sure how it is gonna turn out. I have never made it before but I love it at Brick Oven. Erin, a girl at work, is getting married next month and we are having a shower for her at the clinic so I am making hummus. I hope it turns out good. Oh and when I got home from work there was a package waiting at home for me and Lee. His parents had sent us an Easter package complete with cadbury eggs, truffels, m&ms, and chocolate bunnies!

Final Show

So it's the final weekend of the show. It has been so much fun backstage. So entertaining. I have had a great time being a member of Malcolm and The Prop Tarts. Maybe we will go on tour one day. I am excited about the after party at Fine Wine and Beer by Gus. Not a big wine expert though.

The night off

This Friday was opening night of Steel Magnolias. The show has been selling out!...so if anyone wants tickets call 741-5333. You are in for a treat as the backstage crew is awesome:) Tonight I have a night off and it feels weird not to go to rehearsal as my time for the past month has been completely occupied. I don't know what to do with myself. I'm sure I'll find something.

Murder Mystery

Last night, me, Lee, Andy, and Rachel went to see the Sherlock Holmes Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at the Marriott in Columbus. It was so much fun. I had never been to one before and was very excited. I even got to play a role, FeFe Lefrufru, the french maid. We had a three course meal consisting of ceasar salad, chicken, rice, and sauteed vegetables, and banana split sorbet. It was very good. I even guessed who dun it and was the ace detective of the night. That got me a picture with the cast to be featured on their website! While I don't think this is the start of my acting career we had a great time and I would love to go again!

Change of Scenery

This week it was so pretty outside. If felt like Spring. Today I woke up to dreariness. It is foggy and rainy. Of course...I don't have to work so the weather is yucky. Oh well. I need to catch up on homework. I've been busy with play rehearsals. It is pretty exhausting. And I'm just a prop person. By the way, if anyone wants to come see "Steel Magnolias", it starts March 27th at Jan Dempsey in Auburn. It's $10.00 a ticket. It's going to be great (even though I'm not in it :) j/k ) Last night I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and watched the Auburn Basketball team beat Florida. What a win! Hopefully today they will beat Tennessee. Today is my stepdad's birthday so we are going to dinner at Outback. (My favorite place). They have a whole new menu and we even have a $10 off coupon.

It's Snowing!!

So it's March now and it's snowing outside! It is so pretty and coming down fast. We got up this morning (me earlier than Lee) and it was like waking up on Christmas morning. You knew it was coming the next day but it was still so exciting going to peak out the window to see your "presents". Mason, Lee, and I have been outside this morning but Mason didn't stay out so long. He would rather be inside. Oh well. Me and Lee threw a couple of snow balls at each other and took some pics. We were like little kids. I hope it stays for a while. I can't wait to go back out and play it in again.

Mason thinks it tastes pretty good

About to peg Lee

Random Thoughts

So...today has been very uneventful. This morning me and my mom were supposed to go see my sister in Birmingham to look at the wedding dress she found. Well, mother nature caused us to have to cancel the trip and so my Saturday has been nothing more than watching Steel Magnolias and Titanic. As I ate my onion rings from Burger King I had a random thought: Why does it seem that every time I eat onion rings, it never fails that there is always one fry in the carton. Anyone else have any random thoughts on this lovely Saturday?

Nashville

This weekend Lee and I went to Nashville to visit some friends. It was K's birthday today so we celebrated it this weekend. We left Friday around 5:00 after we both got off work. We stopped to get gas before we left but didn't stop again until we got to Dallas and K's house. We were greeted by Lucy their boxer. After dinner we hung out for a while and went to bed around 1:00. I haven't stayed up that late in long time. Saturday after lunch while the guys went to play baseball, K, Ashley and I went to see Taken. It was such a good movie. I think I purchased the last ticket as I heard someone say it was sold out right after I signed my credit card receipt. We got in the theater and it was packed. We had to sit in the second row. It was such a great movie though. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Saturday night we went to Valentino's for K's birthday and then to the Tin Roof. We had fun there as well and they had a great band. We didn't leave until 2:00. After a quick stop at Steak N Shake we headed home and went to bed around 3:00. I definitely can't do that every weekend. I am getting old. Happy birthday K!

Happy Valentines Day!

Today was a great and relaxing day. This morning Lee brought me breakfast in bed....cinammon rolls. They were so good. He also got me some sweet hearts valentine candy which is my favorite He got the value pack that had 8 packs. This afternoon we met Beth and her hubby at the movies and watched Friday the 13th. It was very scary. We got out of the movies around 5:00 and saw that Provinos was already packed. We had planned to just cook dinner at home since we figured everywhere would be crowded. We stopped by Kroger to pick up a few things and went by Starbucks since I had a gift card. I got the Caramel Frappuccino which is my favorite. I cooked Baked Ziti and garlic bread and it was very good if I do say so myself. I don't really have a lot of things that I can cook "well" but I do love this dish. I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day!

Friday the 13th

Happy Friday the 13th! I know it's not really a holiday but in honor of the remake of Friday the 13th I felt I should say it. I know I am such a dork but I love old horror movies especially the ones from the 80s. Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street are my favorites. Tomorrow, my friend Beth and I are going to see the movie and I am so excited. I didn't really enjoy the remake of Halloween so I am hoping this is better (we'll see; i won't get my hopes up too much). So that's how I will be spending part of Valentines Day. Watching people gruesomely murdered. Happy Friday the 13th and Happy Valentines Day.

Big Boy

Today Lee and I ate lunch out on the deck. It was such a pretty day. This afternoon my mom brought her dog Carmen over to play with Mason. The last few times she has come to play Mason has growled at her for eating his food, drinking his water, and stealing his treats. Today, Mason let her do anything she wanted as long as she chased him. Their play date started off with each one peeing in the grass and the other one covering it up with their scent. After about 20 minutes of that, Carmen and Mason chased each other around the yard and wore each other out. All in all, Mason is growing up and learning to share:)

Productive Day

So far I've had a somewhat productive day. It is just 1:30 and already I have washed clothes, washed dishes, dusted, vacuumed, and met Amy for lunch. I am trying to decide what I will do the rest of the day. It is such a pretty day outside. Maybe I will walk Mason. Whatever it is, it is Saturday and that means I'm not at work:)

Lucy

So today one of our surgeons was giving out names to everyone. Names that would be ours if we didn't already have our given names. One of our many important topics at work. Make sense? Anyway, today he told me that I was a "Lucy". When I heard that name I thought of our friends' boxer named Lucy and Lucy Camden from 7th heaven. And of course there's Lucille Ball and everyone loves Lucy right? (Just a random thought as I take a break from an online test)

Reading Rainbow

So I decided that I was going to try and read more this year. I have always loved reading but I haven't done a lot of it until lately. For Christmas I got several books to keep me busy. I usually am a slow reader but if the books are really good I can finish them in a couple of weeks. That's good for me, but I do know several people who can read a book in one day. I just finished Nicholas Sparks's "Bend in the Road". It was really good and was the first book I had read by him. I just started "Good Grief" by Lolly Winston. So far very good. I also got the new Jodi Piccoult book for Christmas. I love her books. I will read that one but I wanted to try and read the other books I got before reading hers. Oh and the title of this post was the first thing that popped in my head when I finished this post. I usually don't think of a title until the end of the blog. "Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high. Take a look it's in a book...Reading Rainbow." Ok I'll stop now:)

The day after Saturday

So today was just about the same as yesterday. Not much happening. I did a little more school work and then went to the movies and stuffed my face with popcorn. It was the first thing I had to eat today and with a little help from two other girls we just about finished the large. Lee is watching Flight of the Concords and I am just playing on the computer. Tomorrow is Monday and the weekend once again flew by. But next weekend is Superbowl Sunday which is an excuse to eat tons of food. And Lee is excited because the Office will be on after that.

Lazy Day

So far I've had a lazy weekend. But sometimes those are the best kind. Last night we went to Johnny Bruscos. They have very good pizza and it is cheap at the same time. Two things I like: pizza and cheap restaurants. Today I slept a little late (well put it this way...i woke up to the sound of Lee's alarm clock on his cell phone that he sets for work everyday. He had forgotten to turn it off.) I did do a little bit of housework but nothing too strenuous. I did a little bit of school work and Lee went out and got us Chick Fil-A, another one of my favorite things to eat. We also got one of their milkshakes...yummy. I got the Cookies n Cream while Lee got Strawberry. I finally left the house earlier tonight and we poked around Target. Miss America was on and I had recorded it so I watched that after we got home. Tomorrow I am going to a movie and not sure what else the day will hold. Probably won't compare to the already exciting weekend that I've had :)

Biloxi and Frank Caliendo

This weekend, Lee and I along with my parents went to Biloxi. My parents are frequent visitors so Lee and I got to stay and eat for free. The only thing we had to pay for was our gambling. Friday night, my parents got us tickets to see Frank Caliendo. If you have not seen his show or his act you must watch it. He is hilarious. He does impressions of George Bush, John Madden, Bill Clinton, Al Pacino, etc. I laughed the whole time. We waited in line and bought some of his Cds and a DVD. He autographed our ticket stubs and posed for a photo with Lee and I. He even called a 16 year-old boy (who couldn't come because he wasn't 21) and did his John Madden impression. It was very nice of him. Saturday, we gambled a little and then ventured over to the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino and walked around. We even had Ben and Jerrys even though it was cold. I could eat icecream in any weather. Saturday night we had dinner at the Sports Grill which had a flat screen at our table. We gambled a little more that night and lost it all. ($20) We are not high rollers. This morning we headed back home and picked up our little monster (Mason) from the vet. He was happy to be home to run around his yard. All in all it was a great weekend and I hope to go back soon!

Baby It's Cold Outside

It is freezing outside. I am trying to get Mason inside and every time I open the back door he takes off with his stuffed monkey and races around the yard. I think this cold weather makes him crazy. I'm sure if it gets too cold for him he will start whining.

UPDATE:
Apparently his dad got him in before I finished this blog. This is what I found when I came out of the laundry room.

Weekend Trip

So...I didn't get a role in Steel Magnolias. I am kind of relieved though. Memorizing so many lines would be a difficult challenge for me right now. I am still going to be involved with the play though. Me and Ash are going to work backstage. I am excited about that. This weekend we are going to Biloxi. Frank Caliendo will be there on Friday, which is pretty much the main reason we are going. We are going to bring a little bit of money to gamble with and when that is gone we will quit. Who knows? Maybe we will win big! I am so excited that American Idol has started back. I looooove that show. The auditions are so much fun to watch. I get a good laugh out of some of the contestants that should not be auditioning.

Starting My Own Business

Okay so I think I am starting by own business! Photographic Memory Makers. I am taking pictures and putting them to a slideshow on DVD for weddings, anniversaries, etc. I am excited. I even have some business cards that I am going to print up that Lee brought home from work. Let me know if you are interested in anything. I have a website that is in the works right now so it's not finalized but take a look!

"My Cullas are Blush and Bashful Mama"

Tonight I did something that I have never done...auditioned for a role in Steel Magnolias. I was a little nervous but so glad that I did it. Apparently we have a community theatre which I didn't know about. My friend Ashley saw an article about it in the newspaper. She told me about it and since we both looove the movie we thought why not. There was a pretty good turnout. There was one scene and everyone got to read at least twice. I read the role of Shelby (which I didn't choose but didn't mind doing of course) and Annelle. Ashley got to read the same roles as well. It was so much fun. Once I got up to read, I felt my southern draw just come out. I sounded like I was from Louisiana. We are going again tomorrow night for the 2nd auditions, which isn't mandatory but we were told it would be a good idea. I am excited about this possible experience. I was in a play once though....in 6th grade. Does that count? Wish me luck.

No more Food or Late Night TV before Bed

Last night, Lee and I had a late dinner. It was very good (Talapia, greenbeans, corn) but I think it contributed to my nightmare last night; along with falling asleep watching Dateline (the BTK killer was profiled). The dream seemed to last soooo long which I'm sure only lasted 15-20 minutes. The dream: Me, my mom, my sister, and Mason decided to go for a drive out in the country. When we got there, I let Mason out for a walk. We came upon this big white house and out comes Dennis , who chases me until he runs out of breath (he was quite obese). I run all the way to this church and call the police. Connie (who was a victim of the BTK killer), the sherrif drove out to where I was and got my info. She said he does that a lot. A couple of weeks later, I was with my dad who drives into the driveway at the white house after telling him not to and the guy comes out of the house again and chases us. Luckilly we were in a truck this time and so we got away. After making my dad take me home, my mom tells me that she thinks she knows why this man is after me. Apparently, I purchased Auburn football tickets from this man years ago and he is trying to kill everyone that had done that; along with wipe out their bank accounts.....I finally woke up and took a deep breath knowing that I was ok and Dennis couldn't chase me anymore (I hate being chased in a dream!) So no more food or late night TV (especially about a serial killer) before bed!

Happy New Year

I hope everyone has had a great New Year so far. Last night we went to dinner with some friends. We arrived at Olive Garden to find out that it was a 2 hour wait. So then we decided to go to Logan's. It was really good. I am eating my left overs right now as I type this post. After dinner we headed over to Amy and Phillip's for a game of Wii. It was so much fun. We played this game called Boom Blocks where you had to throw a baseball or bowling ball and knock blocks off to get points. Team Busby started off in the lead but fell to 3rd place in the end. (There were 4 couples) It was fun though and we rang in the new year with a glass of wine. When 1 o'clock came and our game was finished, we went home and went to bed. I slept late today. I told myself I was going to be lazy today. Lee is watching football. We might head over to Tiger Town today as we each got a couple of giftcards for Christmas and maybe we will go to dinner tonight. I hope everyone's New Year continues to be great.
